Miss Accidents! CTCC Nanjing Ended in the Fierce Battle

On May 22, 2016 SINOPEC Lubricants CTCC  was held at JIangsu Wanchi International Circuit located at Lishui, Nanjing. Three groups of CTCC ushered the final race on this day. On the very morning, Changan Ford driver Zhan Zhuowei, Dongfeng KIA driver Zhan Jiatu and Beijing Hyundai driver Sun Chao won the champions of the first round of Super 2.0T Trophy, Super 1.6t Trophy and China Trophy respectively; in the second round, SAIC Volkswagen Team 333 driver Jiang Tengyi, Dongfeng Honda racer Xie Xinzhe and Guangzhou Toyota YARiS L Fantasy Team Driver Liu Yang won the champions of three trophies.

Xue Fengguan, deputy secretary of party committee of Lishui District Nanjing, Jiangsu Province and district mayor of the district government attended the opening ceremony. Zhan Guojun, director of the Automobile and Motor Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration and Chairman of the China Automobile and Motor Sports Federation announced the opening of the event.

After several days of rain, the weather on the final battle day turned relatively clearer, and the overall situation of the track was therefore improved significantly. Most of the track surface had been relatively dry. However, in some low-lying corners, there are still deep water ponded, rendering some uncertainties for the race.

 

Teammates? They are all my rivals as long as they are ahead of me!

Someone said, "They are all my rivals in front of me!" some others said "teammates are the biggest rivals!" That is true indeed in that as long as they are driving the same racer, the driver’s real strength can be truly revealed. At F1 Spanish Station last weekend, Rosberg and Hamilton staged an extremely sensational duel; only to be ended with the tragic collision with teammates. The accident scene was so intense that many people could still memorize clearly. However, as for the racing team, a weekend with total failure is definitely a nightmare.

On the very day of official race of CTCC Nanjing Lishui Station, the Super Trophy 2.0T and the Super Trophy 1.6T witnessed the racing of a number of teammates. When the racers with the same performance were prepared and the drivers with the equivalent skills were selected, what a wonderful and spectacular race would it be! In the first round of Super Trophy 2.0T, Cao Hongwei had overtaken his teammate Dan Wells and He Xiaole successively, rushing to the second place from the fifth at the starting point; in the second round, the attack and defense battels between Shanghai Volkswagen Team 333 teammate Jiang Tengyi and Zhang Zhendong were performed during the whole race. Super Trophy 1.6T group was also better than imagined. Zhan Jiatu took the lead over teammate Zhang Zhiqiang in the first round and won the personal championship of CTCC. In the second round, Zhang Zhiqiang showed slighter better result; At the same time, Dongfeng Honda Teammate Xie Xinzhe and Zou Sirui also staged many times of thrilling defenses and offenses at the end of the Turn No.2. All these were kept fresh in the memory of Nanjing spectators who had the first experience of CTCC.

Different from Rosberg and Hamilton, Changan Ford won the top four in the first round, and the Shanghai Volkswagen were in the top 2 in the second round. Dongfeng Honda and Dongfeng Yueda Kia also achieved the performance they desired. After the race, the champions of Zhen Zhuowei and Jiang Tengyi expressed the gratitude to the policy of free competition in each team unanimously, and they believed that, as long as it was controlled within a reasonable range of scales, even the teammates could also have the purest competition.

As fierce as fire! Fierce China Trophy group as Macau Grand Prix Racing

When the first round of China Trophy group is under progress, the track has been in the status of half dry and wet, which became a quite hard problem to the strategy team of the racer team. To this end, Beijing Hyundai Invincible Team adopted the different strategies, namely the dry tires and rain tires were used for Sun Chao and Cui Yue in the front. On the track, both of them had the outstanding performance in different track sections to jointly withstand the menacing Feixun Racer drivers; finally, they defended the honor of the championship team with the ranking of the first and the third.

One spectacular scene appeared in the second round of China Trophy group which was featured by numerous racers and fierce competition -- almost all racers blocked together in the exist section of the Turn No.2. The scene which only appeared in the street race of Macau and Monaco now appeared in the circuit of Nanjing. Liu Yang, from Guangzhou Toyota YARiS L Team took the lead to break through the chaotic situation, and tenaciously resisted the willful Sun Chao from Beijing Hyundai; thus win back once in the manufacturer competitions for Guangzhou Automobile Toyota.

Hot than imagined! Passion from racer fans beyond imagination

It is worth mentioning that the gradually improved weather on Sunday also brought convenience to many local racing enthusiasts. Although it was the first time for Jiangsu Nanjing Wanchi International Circuit to held CTCC, it had attracted a considerable number of spectators. The stands were crowded with bustling people, and both of the inside and outside areas of parking lot were fully crowded. The gourmet area and parent-child activity area also added more affinity to CTCC -- this national event; thus allowing the racer fans to enjoy the battle of speed in a pleasant and relaxed environment throughout the day.

In addition, Nanjing dealers of a number of manufacturers participated in the race also organized the large-scale group of spectators to watch the battle on Sunday. Moreover, there were also a lot of automobile manufacturer representatives went to watch the team, cheer for the team and participate in the opening ceremony in person. CTCC has had a considerable share in China’s automobile industry.
