Satisfyingly, both race of China of World Touring Car Championship(WTCC) and SINOPEC Lubricant China Touring Car Championship(CTCC) Shanghai round came to an end on 25th, Sep, 2016 in Jiading, Shanghai. This event was entirely a tremendous fiesta for the motorsport fans, especially who are keen on touring car racers. As supplement to the race sessions, the newly upgraded exhibiting zone attracted our attention that also played a role in interacting with the fans. As a result, the area that bespoke for enthusiasts was highly praised. According to the statistic, there were twenty-seven thousands of spectators attended and enjoyed this event, including twenty-two thousands of ticket holders and five thousands of paddock VIPs.

In order to enhance the cultural circumstance of automobile, a series of road shows that related to cars were carried over on the track. For instance, the car stunt was so trailblazing and considered to be superior to the existing opening ceremony that WTCC events used to have. During the ceremony, the vice-chief of Shanghai sports bureau, ZHAO Xiaobo and the chief of Jiading sports bureau both present at this event. Lastly, the course was announced to be launch by ZHAN Guojun, president of Federation of automobile and motorcycle sports of people’ s republic of china(CAMF).

WTCC:Huge delights for Volvo and Citroen

2016 is the sixth year that WTCC travels to Shanghai consecutively. In this season’s race of Shanghai, WTCC keeps on presenting marvelous races that capable to represent the leading level on the earth. Volvo’s Thed Björk claimed a dramatic maiden WTCC victory in the opening race. But in the main race that brought into action later, Citroen’s Jose-Maria Lopez picked up a dominating win after led the field all the way. Amazingly, that was his eighth win out of this season and the podium was rounded out by three Citroens. Surprisingly, Morocco’s Mehdi Bennani, who had stood on the podium alongside the factory drivers, clinched independent driver title as there are two rounds remaining indeed.

CTCC:ZHANG Zhendong’s feature, ZOU Sirui’s grand slam and ZHANG Hanbiao’s maximum attack

The second SINOPEC Lubricant China Touring Car Championship’s Super trophy 2.0T race came to the end as ZHANG Zhendong, who drives for SVW 333 team crossed the finish line first, ahead of Leif TOMAS and ZHU Daiwei, representing team HAIMA M6 and BAIC Senova team respectively.

Dongfeng Honda’s ZOU Sirui, who was able to start from the pole position this time, led the second Super trophy 1.6T race from the light to the flag, earned another win under his name. The first driver came after ZOU is XIE Xinzhe, also behind a wheel of Dongfeng Honda Civic and then Dongfeng Yueda KIA’s LIN Lifeng.

The top honor of China Trophy went to ZHANG Hanbiao, backs by Beijing Hyundai Zongheng racing team after had got chased by GAC Toyota YARiS L team duo, YE Junhui and CHEN Huping during the race.

 

China the element of WTCC, CTCC the elemnet of the world

Back to the days that WTCC arrived in China for the first time at Shanghai Tianma circuit, where we got an impressive photograph. Within the photo, there was a fairly huge gap between the world-leading drivers’ racing lines getting through the first corner and local drivers’ lines. Six years after that, the Chinese driver once again became the major topic. But this time, several international veterans chose to join the field of CTCC in order to challenge the local elites. We saw that former world champion emerged in BAIC Senova’s cockpit and Swedish domestic champion led the HAIMA M6 trio straight to manufacturer champion. In return, Chinese drivers utilized both their upsides and abilities during the Sunday’s race. The pole-starting ZHANG Zhendong brought the victory home after had defeated Leif’s inspire attack, which lasted more than four laps.

Second-place-finished Leif highly rated ZHANG Zhendong’s performance on the post-race conference. ”Of course our cars are amazing, but his drive is even better. There wasn’t any opportunity for me to make a single overtake.” After attending CTCC opening ceremony at Zhaoqing, world champion Rob Huff got a step further by approaching a BAIC Senova racing car. Unfortunately, he failed to manage a podium finish due to multiple reasons.

ZOU Sirui reproduces XIE Xinzhe’s magnificent story

All the negative emotions that ZOU Sirui accumulated should be eliminated since he collected the pole position, and both race wins. That also means ZOU successfully replicated teammate XIE Xinzhe’s legendary achievement, which was created in Jiading as well, the third round of current season. To be honest, ZOU Sirui suffered a low tide during the beginning section of his first ever full CTCC campaign. Being an outstanding racing driver, he perfectly controlled the negative effects of setback and managed to get his form back. As a result, he seized two victories in a string, which deeply motivated him and strengthen his confidence.

After this war, Dongfeng Yueda KIA eventually stopped the trend of losing ground and kept its lead on manufacturer championship standing. ZHANG Zhiqiang, the most promising driver of KIA also maintained the gap between rival and his hop of contending driver championship title. Since there are still two rounds remaining, will be held in Guizhou and Shanghai respectively, more intensive races are likely to take place

 

ZHANG Hanbiao fends off charged rivals

The podium of China trophy will never be well-rounded if either Beijing Hyundai driver or GAC Toyota driver is absent. Teenager ace YE Junhui led GAC Toyota’s raid down to manufacturer honor again after had joined force with veteran teammate CHEN Huping. However, Beijing Hyundai still holds an enormous leading advantage. And Shanghai CUS racing team joined the winner’s field by winning the victory of club teams.

After a decent weekend Beijing Hyundai’s YANG Xi jumped into lead on driver’s standing. But the man traces down him, his teammate ZHANG Hanbiao, only has 5.5 points adrift. GAC Toyota’s LIU Yang is another position down with 109 points under his name. Let’s assume who will draw the first blood as there are two rounds to go?

Creative broadcasting method is leading the trend

The CTCC Shanghai Jiading round was brought to a successful close in the setting sun. Delightfully, tens of thousands of spectaculars watched the races through a number of ways such as television broadcast and internet broadcast. Something worth to be talking is that CTCC conducted the first ever VR broadcast for motorsport events in the world by reaching an agreement with Weijing VR, which actually made ultra-long-distance and high-velocity broadcasting come true.

 

In addition, a large number of Wechat red pocket were handed out by CTCC official during this event, which was more than 10000 pieces. That also means over 10000 spectaculars got their lucky money, which symbols happiness and the moments to be memorized. 

As per the latest schedule,the last two rounds of SINOPEC Lubricant China Touring Car Championship will be kicked off at Guizhou Junchi circuit on 29-30th, October and on 5-6th, November at Shanghai Tianma circuit respectively.
